IMO and IOPC Funds discuss progress on the HNS Convention

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the IOPC Funds both reported on the progress towards the entry into force of the 2010 HNS Convention at their recent meetings.

The IMO and IOPC Funds’ Secretariats continue to work together to promote the entry into force of the 2010 HNS Convention and to encourage States to ratify or accede to the 2010 HNS Protocol. A number of practical tools have been developed and made available to assist States and industry alike, such as presentation materials, the HNS website and the HNS Finder.

The 106th session of the IMO Legal Committee took place from 27-29 March 2019 and the meeting of the IOPC Funds took place on 1 and 2 April 2019. Both meetings included reports on developments relating to the HNS Convention.
